In the aftermath of the Great Depression, we are introduced to a rundown guesthouse on the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth. A motley crew – packed with classic archetypes like the preacher struggling with his faith and the drunken aspiring writer – come together seeking connection and meaning through song.

Award-winning Irish playwright Conor McPherson (The Weir, Port Authority) has woven together several colourful characters and storylines into a harrowing portrait of 1930s America: a society driven into despair but slowly finding its way back towards hope.
