Synopsis

Everyone loves early 2000s rom-coms. They had heart, humour, and often zany plots. 50 First Dates: The Musical will awaken your nostalgia for this simpler era with a retelling of the beloved story made famous by Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, told through brand-new original songs, fresh comedy, and gorgeous musical numbers.

Why should you watch 50 First Dates: The Musical?
If you enjoyed the 2004 film with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, you’ll love this new take on the quirky classic, updated for a modern audience, filled with songs that’ll be stuck in your head for days after.
50 First Dates is a very unusual love story about a woman who loses her memories of the man she loves, making it both poignant and moving but also a sure-fire recipe for comedy and laugh-out-loud moments.

What is 50 First Dates: The Musical about?
Charming womaniser Henry Roth falls in love with sweet-natured art teacher Lucy Whitmore, but his attempts to woo her take a dramatic turn when he finds out her memory resets every day, which means she’ll never remember any of their dates. But Henry is determined to be with Lucy, even if it means winning her over again and again every single day.

Based on the 2004 rom-com starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, this musical has been adapted by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen (The Other Josh Cohen) and directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw, who previously brought to the stage another iconic 2000s classic, Mean Girls. Georgina Castle (Mean Girls) and Josh St. Clair (Kinky Boots, Wicked) lead the cast as Lucy and Henry.

50 First Dates: The Musical is the latest in a string of musical adaptations of nostalgic films from a previous decade. Premiering at the Other Palace Theatre this autumn, this feel-good musical, with a message that love defies all odds, is sure to appeal to audiences of all generations, particularly anyone who is a romantic at heart.
